On Thursday, March 12th, Vets held a student vs. faculty basketball game. The highly attended event was organized by Vets alum, Michael Bessette, as part of his Capstone project at Pilgrim High School. Many teachers, clubs, students, alumni, and organizations donated raffle items, played in the game, and came out to support the event. The game raised funds to install a memorial plaque for Mr. Jason Almeida, a Phys. Ed. and Health teacher at Vets who passed away last year.
A tough-fought game, at the final buzzer the faculty beat the students, 75 to 66. In all, the event raised over $5,000, which will cover the costs and installation of the memorial plaque for Mr. Almeida. This plaque will be installed in the gym's lobby this year and extra funds will be donated back to the Vets' Phys. Ed and Health department.
