- ALAP:
Accelerated Learning
Activities Program
- Chorus:
Students perform
for both the school and the community.
- Cultural Arts Program:
Coordinated
by the PTO cultural arts committee.
- D.A.R.E.
(Drug Abuse
Resistance Education) is conducted in the school by the Warwick Police Department.
- Instrumental Music Program:
Instruction as well as participation in band and orchestra for students in grades 4, 5, and 6.
- KIDS Day:
An annual
program that provides an orientation to entering kindergarten students.
- "Kids Can Make A Difference" Program:
Sponsored by the Feinstein Foundation. Every student learns how he or she can make a difference for the
better in the community by performing and logging good deeds.
- Open House:
An annual
fall event to introduce parents to their child's teacher and classroom.
- The Mentor Program:
Randall
Holden School has the largest mentor program in the city of Warwick. Volunteers from the Warwick professional community
are trained by the Warwick Chamber of Commerce to mentor an individual child on a weekly basis. Volunteers from
the nearby Radisson Hotel and Coast Guard serve as mentors at Randall Holden School.
- PTA:
The Holden PTA
is actively involved in the life of the school. In addition to family activities, they sponsor the school's cultural
arts program.
- School Safety Patrol:
Selected
fifth and sixth grade students help fellow students to cross the street and board the bus in a program sponsored
by AAA.
- Strategic Planning Committee:
Parents and staff work together to set the course for school improvement.
- Student Newspaper:
Sixth
grade students are reporters for the "School Happenings" column in the Warwick Beacon. Sixth grade teachers
serve as advisors to the students.
- VOWS:
Volunteers of
Warwick Schools coordinate a program that provides tutorial and clerical assistance to the school.
