Welcome to the Gorton Guidance Webpage

The guidance and counseling program at Gorton Junior High focuses on the rapidly changing needs of adolescents.  These changing needs can affect every aspect of a young person's life. Counselors assist them in balancing these needs within the school setting.

The guidance department focuses on development in three major areas: academic achievement, career awareness, and personal/social development.

Parents who wish to speak with one of us or to schedule a team conference, please call 734-3356.

Students may stop in the Guidance office at anytime during the school day to request a conference.  

Dates to Remember:

  • Tuesday, December 15: Interims
  • Holiday Break: December 24 through January 3rd
  • Monday, January 4th: Classes resume
  • Monday, January 18: No School - Martin Luther King's Day
  • Monday, January 25: 2nd quarter closes
  • Tuesday, January 26: 3rd quarter begins
  • Monday, February 8: Report cards distributed
