PROJECT GRATITUDE

JANUARY 2nd- JANUARY30th, 2008

During the year of 2006-2007, Mrs. Murgo’s classes, which consist of over 200 students, joined together to make softballs for sick children at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. This worthwhile community service project is going on in all of Rhode Island in Family and Consumer Science sewing classes. The vibrant softballs, which are about the size a standard baseball each, will be collected in April. The goal here at Gorton is to make 200 softballs to be sent to the hospital to put a smile on children’s faces. These softballs are stuffed with fiberfill and covered with soft fleece for safe play. Gorton hopes that all of the children enjoy these gifts and have great time playing with them.
