FirstClass
E-mail/Communication Solution
In April 2006,
Warwick Public Schools will go live with FirstClass to provide
e-mail and online collaboration to all faculty and staff. The
implementation will be in two phases beginning with all faculty
accounts and ending with the transition of administrator accounts,
giving Warwick Public Schools a unified communication solution.
Training and support
will be available through the combined efforts of the Information
Services department and the Technology Application Assessment
Coordinator.
FirstClass was
chosen because it is
a cost-effective, highly scalable, feature-rich messaging and
communications solution for schools and school districts, learning
organizations and businesses. This single product solution provides the ability to create and easily maintain staff
discussion areas, centralized access to external mail lists and listservs, collections of resource materials, files, forms, and
web links from within the school network as well as home or remote
locations.
The FirstClass Communications Platform is a Collaborative Groupware,
which provides the ability to effectively communicate and share
valuable resources and information via email, public folders,
contacts, group collaboration in conferences, a centralized
directory, individual and shared calendars and online chats.
FirstClass enables you to foster the building of ideas, and
participate in group discussion areas and shared workspaces.
It also integrates these features with web publishing tools that
allow users without knowledge of HTML to create personal or
corporate web pages simply and easily.
