    Home-School Partnerships

  • School Improvement Team: a group of parents and faculty members plan strategies to improve our school: academically, socially, and aesthetically. Participation is open to everyone.
  • PTO: an active parent organization that plans activities for students and parents; fundraising; and cultural programs.
  • Open House Program: an evening for parents and faculty to meet.
  • KIDS Day: Kindergarten Orientation.
  • Drum Rock ParentGram: monthly newsletter to keep all members of our learning community informed.
  • VOWS: Volunteers of Warwick Schools. A successful and well-established volunteer program that has been providing volunteers to the schools since 1973.

    Partnership Programs with the Business Community

  • Mentor Program: Professionals from the community, Sam's Club, Metropolitan, Life, Fleet, and LifeFocus are trained by the Warwick Chamber Education to work with a child weekly during the school day.
  • Feinstein Program: All students are invited to participate in this community outreach program by performing "good deeds". The school receives funds from the Allan Shawn Feinstein Foundation to support its many programs. Students learn how to assume responsibility for themselves and the lives of others.

    Student Programs

  • ALAP: Accelerated Learning Activities Program for students identified as Gifted.
  • School Safety Patrol: An AAA sponsored program that trains older students to help follow students to ride the bus in a safe manner.
  • Beacon Reporters: Selected students write articles and take photos for the Warwick Beacon's "School Happenings".
  • Chorus: Students in grades 4 - 6 have an opportunity to explore vocal music and perform for their school and community.
  • Instrument Music Instruction: Students in grades 4 -6 have an opportunity to explore brass, percussion, and string instruments
  • Title I Reading Program and Literacy: full-time Reading Specialists work with students that have difficulty in reading and writing.
  • Book Club: an after-school program designed to expose students to the various genres of literature. Students meet with an advisor and discuss book selections.
