WARWICK SCHOOL COMMITTEE PROPOSAL TO THE WARWICK TEACHERS' UNION LEADERSHIP |

| On September 4, 2003, in an effort to accomplish a speedy resolution of the disputed issues, the Warwick School Committee made the following proposal to the Warwick Teachers' Union leadership: | |||||

|||||
| · A three-year contract extension with the following modifications: | |||||
|
1. The School Committee will increase teacher salary, advanced degree increments and all Appendix B positions as follows:
|
|||||
| 2. The school year will be extended to 183 days for 2003-2004, 185 days for 2004-2005 and 187 days for 2005-2006 to permit additional staff development days for teachers to satisfy the Rhode Island Board of Regents' Regulations and other mandates. The School Committee will compensate teachers for those additional staff development days at the same rate it pays for after school and summer workshops (currently, $20.00 per hour). | |||||
| 3. Items for which there is a current tentative agreement will be included in the new contract. | |||||
| 4. All other outstanding School Committee and WTU proposals are withdrawn for purposes of this proposal, including the School Committee's proposal for co-pay on healthcare. | |||||
| · Alternatively, the School Committee's offer to submit to binding arbitration on all issues remains on the table. | |||||
